Stakeholders in Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, have reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a special community engagement in Akpugo, where participants pledged loyalty and maximum support to advance the Governor’s vision.
Speaking at the gathering, Chief Simon Eze — a Lagos-based businessman and CEO of Golden Tree Hotel, Satellite Town, and Seamark Electric Plc — moved the motion for Mbah’s endorsement. He highlighted the Governor’s achievements within three years in office, noting that his impactful leadership, despite limited state resources, has set a benchmark in constitutional democracy.
Chief Simon Eze described Governor Peter Mbah as a visionary leader with a strong capacity for implementation. He emphasized that transformative leadership and investment in education are critical to sustainable development, citing China’s rise as an example of how visionary governance can transform a nation’s fortunes.
He commended the Governor’s Smart Green Schools initiative and called on residents to rally behind Mbah’s development agenda.
“We have no other governorship candidate in Akpugo land and Enugu State apart from Peter Mbah. He must complete another four years in office. The people here are genuinely committed to working for him in 2027. Unlike in the past, where some support groups showed diluted commitment, this movement is deliberate, structured, and single-minded in purpose,” Eze stated.
He further explained that the mobilisation effort is inclusive, bringing in young people and ensuring no one is sidelined.
According to him, stakeholders from diverse backgrounds are working collaboratively to deepen awareness of the Governor’s achievements and strengthen grassroots support.
“This movement reflects a clear understanding of the moment and a commitment to harnessing collective energy towards sustaining the transformative vision of Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration,” he added.
