Nigeria’s Super Eagles suffered a narrow 2–1 defeat to Portugal in an international friendly, as the Europeans wrapped up their World Cup preparations with back-to-back victories.

Pedro Neto opened the scoring for Portugal before Akor Adams restored parity for Nigeria. However, the hosts regained the lead to secure the win, leaving the Super Eagles to reflect on missed opportunities despite Adams’ equaliser.

The result ensured Portugal entered the World Cup on a winning streak, while Nigeria continues to assess areas for improvement ahead of future fixtures.
However, Portugal regained the advantage through substitute Francisco Conceição, who curled a brilliant strike into the far corner to secure the win for the hosts.

The victory ensured Portugal headed into the World Cup on the back of successive wins, while Nigeria was left to reflect on a narrow defeat despite Adams’ equaliser.
