GMYT Fashion Academy has on Monday May 4, 2026 inducted 21 rising entrepreneurs into it’s institution to deepen the vision and commitment of the MD/CEO Dr (Princess) Kelechi Oghene in nurturing young talents to achieve their ultimate socio-economic dreams.
The induction on Monday was an inspiring moment for the youngsters to satisfy their passion and prepare for the next steps in their fashion journey, while also feeling welcomed and settled into their new environment.
The induction was themed “Beyond the Fashion Industry” while experts who spoke at the epochal event included Amb. (Dr) Ekwutoziam Ogwus Chinedu, Jennifer Ezebodo, Mounfik Raiyan Abu and the host herself, Dr Kelechi Oghene.
Princess Kelechi’s journey to the fashion industry has been marked by an unwavering resolve to excellence. Fashion has always been her zealousness just as she cultivated it through education at prestigious institutions like Lagos Business School, London College of Fashion, Harvard Business School, Massachusetts and Modus Fashion Academy, Dubai. These experiences provided her with invaluable knowledge and skills to build capacity and develop human capital.
Fashion has been a lifelong passion for her. From a young age, inspired by her late mum who was a seamstress and a serial entrepreneur, she knew that she wanted to contribute positively to the fashion industry. Her foray in the industry has been guided by a deep-seated aspiration to make a meaningful impact and inspire others.
GMYT is the short form of God’s Might, and it is by far the leading fashion academy in the whole of West Africa. This is especially perceived through the category of Alumni it has graduated over the years. The academy is focused on creating the next generation of entrepreneurs through skill acquisition in fashion and its business knowledge. The aim essentially is to create solutions by creating job opportunities for millions of women/youths around the world.
