President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, on his 60th birthday, commending him for bringing finesse, credibility, and gravitas to public communication in the administration.
In a message marking the milestone anniversary, the President described Idris as an excellent communicator, accomplished public relations executive, and respected media leader whose contributions have strengthened government messaging.
Tinubu noted that the minister’s reputation in the media and communications industry precedes him, citing his role as founder and publisher of Blueprint Newspapers, as well as chairman of a successful public relations consultancy and broadcast media outfit.
He also highlighted Idris’ service as General Secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), describing it as evidence of his patriotism and commitment to nation-building.
The President commended the minister’s diligence, brilliance, and doggedness in communicating the achievements, policies, and programmes of the administration.
According to him, Idris has remained steadfast in disseminating the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country, ensuring that government initiatives are effectively conveyed to Nigerians.
Tinubu wished the minister many more years of good health and strength, urging him to continue his service to the nation.
“His reputation precedes him. He has been at the forefront of the media and public relations industry as the founder and publisher of Blueprint Newspapers and as the chairman of a successful public relations consultancy and broadcast media outfit.
“His role as general secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN) before his appointment distinguished him as a patriot and valued partner in nation-building.
