Lagos-based businessman, Chief Simon Eze, a key stakeholder of a coalition of political and socio-economic interest groups in Akpugo Enugu State has thrown his weight behind the reelection of Governor Dr. (Barr) Peter Ndubuisi Mba for a second term in office.
According to him, the entire people of Akpugo community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State both at home and abroad are solidly behind Governor Mba and will openly display their solidarity for him during the upcoming “Akpugo 4 Peter MBAH – 2027” mega rally.
Chief Eze also spoke glowingly about the early days of Governor Mba, and reminisced how he started business from Alaba international market in Lagos in the late ’80s and became successful, stressing that the Governor is one of their “brothers”.
He as well assured that the Alaba business community which he (Ese) is a member, will unanimously join hands with the organisers of “Akpugo 4 Peter MBAH – 2027” mega rally to raise funds and make the event the biggest in Enugu State and South East as 2027 election draws near.
Eze said,
“Ohanaeze Akpugo, I greet you all, my name is Chief Simon Eze (Eribe Aguagu na ime Jesus); (OYIBA EZE AKA JI OFOR 1 OF NKANU LAND), I’m a proud citizen of Ogonogo Eji, Ndiagu Akpugo, however, I am greeting from Lagos.
“This planned mega rally is a welcome development for myself in particular. I am happy that opportunity like this is made possible for me and others in Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos to join hands to appreciate and celebrate our brother and a compatriot, a great Nkanu son who blissfully started his business adventure from Alaba in the late 1980s, I am happy to call him our brother. The working Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mba.
“Long before we got the news of this mega rally, we’ve been planning an Akpugo /Lagos jamboree to mobilise and sensitise our communities for support towards his second term in office, come 2027 governorship election.
“Thus, I am to announce that we the Alaba business community, will now join hand with the organisers of “Akpugo 4 Peter MBAH – 2027” mega rally to raise funds and make the event the biggest in Enugu State and South East.
