Otunba Segun Showunmi, convener of the National Opposition Movement Coalition (NOMC), a platform aimed at fostering grassroots consensus for the selection of future leaders has concisely shared the highlight of his meeting with the founder of Citadel Global Community Church, and former presidential aspirant on the platform of APC in 2023, Pastor Tunde Bakare.
The meeting held on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Showunmi described the former vice-presidential candidate for Muhammadu Buhari under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) during the 2011 presidential election as an “exceptionally committed patriot of the highest order.”
In a terse message he made public on his social media platform, Showunmi said:
“Be not deceived: Pastor Tunde Bakare is an exceptionally committed patriot of the highest order.
“His sacrifices over the years are immeasurable.
“We spent hours in deep, substantive cross-fertilization of ideas on Ogun State and Nigeria.
