No One Has Everything – We All Need Help, By Mogaji Wole Arisekola

No one is self-sufficient. We all need help at some point in life.

In the Bible, Samson was portrayed as the most powerful man in the world. He won countless battles and defeated mighty enemies that ordinary men feared. Yet, even he had limits. When he became thirsty, his strength alone could not provide water. He had to cry out to God, and relief came only when God made water flow from beneath a rock.

This story reminds us that even the strongest among us can be helpless at times.

When someone comes to you for help, it does not mean you are superior. It simply means they need support at that moment. Life is a circle: today it may be them; tomorrow, it could be you.

Mocking someone on social media for seeking help does not make you strong. On the contrary, it reveals weakness, naivety, and a lack of wisdom. In Nigeria, we say, “He who laughs last laughs best,” and “No one knows what tomorrow holds.”

The late MKO Abiola once shared a lesson in humility. In an interview, a reporter asked, “Have you ever been broke?” He replied, “Yes, always. I’m a businessman with many companies and investments around the world. I don’t keep cash, but I have friends who always bail me out.”

Even a multi-billionaire understood the value of friends, humility, and support.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
