Convener of ‘Truth is Sacrosant’ and public affairs analyst, Comrade Emmanuel Ajibulu has called on those he described as detractors to stop their infantile, jaundiced and baseless attacks on Ikeja Electric Plc, it’s esteemed Chairman and directors, adding that the malicious aim of destroying the brand’s towering profile had failed woefully.

He urged the Chairman of Ikeja Electric, Dr Kola Adesina, the CEO, Mrs Folake Soetan and others in the reputable company, to remain unperturbed, continue their good works to humanity, and to ignore the ‘bad belle’ distractions despite all efforts to discredit and undermine their remarkable feats in the country’s energy sector.

With a specific response to a faceless group known as Nigerian Global Business Forum, (NGBF) which claimed to be a new association of Nigerian Professionals whose business was to engage in smear campaign against established institutions and organisations, building false narratives around and misinforming the public for pecuniary gains.

Ajibulu who is also a media personality in a statement he personally signed on Thursday and made available to newsmen advised members of the public to treat with contempt and disdain all lies, innuendos, deceptions and other defamatory and snide remarks against Ikeja Electric and it’s key stakeholders by NGBF.

The statement credited to the publisher of Veracity Desk reads in part:

“Contrary to NGBF claims, Ikeja Electric Plc is Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company known for integrity, sustainable development and accelerated network upgrades that is patriotically aimed at providing efficient service delivery to her customers. The company’s unalloyed commitments over the years have been adjudged to be excellent by industry’s regulators, customers and other critical stakeholders in the country’s energy value chain.

“Empirical facts further show that Ikeja Electric has consistent record of electricity supply to homes and businesses across her coverage areas while also going extra miles to mitigate challenges that could disrupt her customers’ satisfaction. Despite the increasing rate of vandalism which poses a great threat to the efforts being made to ensure customers get quality and regular power supply, the company is never deterred in achieving her statutory goals and objectives. The company’s sustained collaboration of critical stakeholders such as community leaders, law enforcement/security agencies etc, have incredibly helped to curb vandalism and other violent attacks on her critical assets and infrastructures.

“Ikeja Electric has a penchant for not resting on her oars, rather it has redoubled her zeal in making substantial investments, expansion of her infrastructures in the power sector to ensure customers enjoy improved power supply across her locations, the company is responsive and has various channels for two-way communication. This excellence is what distinguishes her from others”

“Impressively, Ikeja Electric partnered not with generalists but with specialists, experts whose very livelihood depended on smoothly running operations. From technology suppliers to engineering consultants, each brought focused expertise. The company’s team also realised something profound. For them at the company, risk diminishes dramatically when partners have as much skin in the game as they do. In short, operational risks were mitigated by ensuring everyone involved was equally motivated to succeed—an elegant yet deceptively simple approach.

“This embrace of uncertainty is not reckless bravado; it’s strategic audacity, informed by careful calculation. Indeed, one could argue that the highest form of risk management is precisely this: the sophisticated recognition that risks are not to be feared, but understood, managed, and skilfully navigated. It’s a perspective that transforms the game entirely, shifting the strategic focus from defensive caution to proactive ambition. Moreover, timing—often regarded as mere luck—was carefully calibrated by Ikeja Electric, creating a strategic advantage from external adversity. This delicate balance between agility and stability—between responsiveness and robustness—is a hallmark of advanced risk navigation, a trait more commonly associated with the delicate manoeuvres of diplomacy than industrial enterprise.

“If there’s a single insight to take away from Ikeja Electric’s success story, it is the company’s ability to navigate risk and attaining uncommon milestones.

“Reputational damage is indeed considered a serious crime, as it has profound effects on an individual’s or organization’s standing in society. The legal framework surrounding reputational harm, particularly through defamation, emphasizes serious consequences and penalties, I therefore hope Nigerian Global Business Forum, (NGBF) is prepared for their worse days ahead. Nigeria is governed by law and order therefore the law will surely take it course, people must learn to be decorous, civil and limit their comments within the ambit of facts and not spill their guts within the realm of delusional sentiments as exhibited by NGBF and their pay masters.

“I urge the Chairman of Ikeja Electric, Dr Kola Adesina, the CEO of Mrs Folake Soetan and others in the reputable company, to remain focused, to continue the good work, and to ignore the ‘bad belle’ distractions despite all efforts to discredit and undermine their remarkable feats in the country’s energy sector,” Ajibulu wrote.
