The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has named Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, formalizing her leadership after several months in an acting capacity.
The confirmation underscores the company’s intent to maintain stability and strengthen its executive team as Nigeria’s electricity sector continues its complex journey toward reform and efficiency.
Momoh’s appointment, which began in an acting role in March 2024, is now substantive.
This confirmation, which followed the redeployment of former MD/CEO Mrs. Tinuade Sanda to WPG Ltd (the core investor), reflects strong confidence in her performance and strategic direction.
A seasoned industry professional, Momoh brings close to 30 years of experience spanning the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and Eko Disco.
Her career has been defined by her expertise in commercial operations, marketing, distribution management, and customer relations—fields in which she has consistently delivered measurable improvements.
Within Eko Disco, Momoh has held key leadership positions including General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager across major business units such as Orile, Mushin, and Apapa.
Under her supervision, the company recorded a significant drop in Aggregate Technical, Commercial, and Collection (ATC&C) losses—from 32.78 per cent in 2017 to 26.82 per cent in 2019—demonstrating her results-oriented management style.
Her professional achievements have earned her multiple recognitions, most recently as one of Nigeria’s Top 50 Best Performing CEOs at The Business Times CEO Forum & Awards 2025, held in Lagos. The award celebrated her contribution to Eko Disco’s operational progress and her leadership in driving customer-focused innovation.
Momoh, an alumna of Auchi Polytechnic where she obtained her OND and HND in Business Administration and Marketing, also holds an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University. She is a Fellow of both the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
Beyond her corporate roles, Momoh has served as an adjunct lecturer at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and attended executive leadership programs in Dubai and Uyo—further reinforcing her commitment to industry capacity building.
Her confirmation as Eko Disco’s Managing Director marks a continuity of experienced leadership within one of Nigeria’s most critical power distribution companies, as it works to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction amid a challenging national energy landscape.
