GTCO Fashion Weekend 2025 Celebrates African Creativity Designers

The highly publicized GTCO fashion weekend 2023 took place in Lagos on November 8-9, 2025 This annual extravaganza, hosted by the reputable Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), has become a cornerstone of the Nigerian fashion calendar, attracting designers, enthusiasts, and other industry professionals in the value chair from around the globe.

This year’s 8th edition not only thrilled the audience with stylish pieces and trends but also imparted knowledge about the fashion industry.

The two-day event featured beautiful runway presentations, fashion exhibitions, master classes, and awe-inspiring street style. The platform essentially celebrates and promotes Africa’s rich and diverse fashion landscape. Guaranty Trust Bank, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, recognized the potential to create an event that not only showcases the talents of African designers but also fosters collaboration and networking within the industry.

Since its inception, the GTCO Fashion Weekend has evolved into a highly anticipated annual event, bringing together designers, models, fashion enthusiasts, and industry insiders. The event serves as a melting pot of creativity, showcasing the fusion of traditional African aesthetics with contemporary global trends.

One of the major highlights of the events was the masterclass hosted by fashion professionals teaching important skills for creating and maintaining successful fashion labels.

Among those who made the masterclass remarkable were, Bianca Saunders, who made her slogans to be “The Business Creativity: Scaling a Fashion Brand Beyond Wholesale;”  Jade Oyateru, “The power of Story: Building Brands People Believe In”; Melissa Butler; “Building a business from zero to a multi-million Dollar Empire”; Maria Borges, “The model mindset from getting signed to staying relevant”;  Christina Tegbe, “The science of ritual from heritage to results · the future of African beauty” and Patrick Ta.

The evening however started with stunning runway looks from Africa’s top designers and international labels that got the audience awestruck.

Those engaged in the runway activities included Ituen Basi, The Ben Collective, Sevon Dejana, Mmuso Maxwell, Mowalola, Priya Ahluwalia, Tongoro Studio, TaAdesola, Imane Ayissi, Patrick McDowell, Stella Jean and Charlie Harrison.
