Oriade LCDA Chair, Olojede Presides Over High-Profile Stakeholders’ Meeting For 2026 Budget

The Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 held its Stakeholders’ consultative forum for the preparation of the Year 2026 Budget at the Secretariat.

The exercise was presided over by the executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede just as he highlighted updates on the government’s projects and programmes, such as the half-year performance of the year 2025 Budget, plans for the remainder of year 2025, while also focusing on areas for 2026.

The Oriade executive Chairman who is known for his good record of high moral rectitude, accountability, transparency and zero tolerance malfeasance reaffirmed his administration’s unalloyed commitment to an inclusive governance agenda (THEMES Plus), emphasising gender equality, social inclusion, and youth engagement as well as empowerment for the senior citizens and other vulnerable segments of the community.

The forum was widely commended for forming a critical part of the budget cycle, as it provides a platform for residents and other critical stakeholders to make contributions that guide how public resources are allocated to address community needs, drive growth, improve service delivery, and make the locality more livable and inclusive.

Speaking on the significance of the exercise at the meeting which ran for almost five hours, the executive Chairman said: “This Budget is an annual engagement which enables representives from the various Wards and other relevant ones converge out of necessity to deliberate on the best way to provide the essential needs necessary for the development of our community, collectively. We have gathered here to identify various community needs that will make up our impact for the year 2026 budget.

“This in essence helps in the following areas:

  1. Construction of good and quality roads and rehabilitation of the dilapidated ones
  2. Environmental cleaning exercise for cleaner environment and waste evacuation
  3. Educational development in Oriade LCDA primary and secondary schools
  4. Health care services/provisions in our primary health care centers with well equipped facilities as we await many more of these health care centres to spring up, rapidly
  5. Security services
  6. ICT and other empowerment training programmes
  7. Provision or borehole facility, solar lightings, and solar-powered generared electricity in our various Wards and other related facilities proposed for Oriade LCDA
  8. Aged, Youths, Womem Support Welfare Programmes
  9. Community development/self support programmes
  10. Rural Development planning scheme to open up our riverine communities

“The foregoing and aforementioned have impacted my zeal and vision after taking the mantle of leadership from predecessor, Hon. Ramotalai Olanrewaju Akinlola-Hassan who laid the foundation for virile administration. Retrospectively and realistically, the outcome of this meeting has provided impetus to enhancing and facilitating desired improvement in infrastructures and other related social welfare projects within Oriade LCDA. This vision has motivated and inspired the following projects ever since my assumption to the office of the executive Chairman, as a government of continuity focusing on the Renewed Hope Agenda for infrastructural and economic development. The 2025 budget has so far reflected the following:

INFRASTRUCTURE
-The construction of reinforced concrete perimeter fence of Iyagbe Primary School
-Satellite Town area office building
-Construction Ade Oshodi road Ijegun Egba (completed)
-Rehabilitation of Assembly road (completed)
-Construction of drainage and road at Izoigwa/Isolo street, Oluti (yet to commence)
-Construction of drainage and road along Kareem Street, Kirikiri Town, Lagos (yet to commence)
-Construction of drainage and the road at Oba Afeez Oriyomi Shittu street, Ijegun Egba, Satellite (yet to commence)
-Supply and installation of street lightings to the entire stretch of Assembly road, Dupe Otegbola and to illuminate Navy Gate and Mumini Adio Badmus (completed)
-Construction of road along Ayinke Timpson (Phase II) – (Ongoing)
-Construction of road at Moshalasi Street, Gojere, Barracks (Ongoing)
-Construction of drainage and road at Jimoh Street, Agboju (Ongoing)
-Supply and installation of 100 watts integrated solar power light at Omila Streer , Onireke (completed)

EDUCATION
Presentation of GCE/UTME forms to kur intending secondary school students in Oriade LCDA
Spelling Bee Programme for Primary/Secondary Schools

ENVIRONMENT
-Environmental clearing of Abule Ado Community road
-Clearing overgrown weeds at media road, Masamasa to Abule Ado
-Clearing of overgrown weeds in public primary schools
-Fumigation of public primary schools
-Constant Clearing of out witted weeds within the council’s premises, regular clearing and evacuation of wastes
-Evacuation of overflow septic tank at Ijegun Egba PHC
-Clearing of overgrown weeds at Council’s library at Assembly road
-Dredging of blockage canal at Dupe Otegbola road

  • Desilting of Community road by the Young Shall Grow road, Ijegun Egba, and Imoore

SOCIAL WELFARE
-Hosting of independence day celebration
-Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Women programme for a girl-child empowerment event
-Women sponsorship to various programmes to enhance women capacity development
-Farmers Day celebration and community enhancement programme

“The foregoing presents the highlights of the benefits of holding a meeting of this kind as a community. I would like to reiterate my unrelenting commitment towards bringing and establishing first class infrastructural development in Oriade LCDA in tandem with the realities of the Lagos THEMES PLUS Agenda. Also, note that everyone’s voice matters in the course of this deliberation as I rely on your first hand information and report to act, accordingly towards acqualising our proposed year 2026 capital budget.

“On that basis therefore, I will like to urge and plead to all and sundry to pay your tax as stipulated by the law to enable us to put all our intending into visibility and credible usage of our common patrimony. In attendance at the epochal and history making event were Hon. Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaimon, Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo-Odofin Constituency II, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi, Executive vice Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Ariyo Abolore Adebayo, Leader of the House and Councilors of the legislative arm of the LCDA, Hon. Ramotalai Olanrewaju Akinlola-Hassan, (immediate past Executive Chairman, Oriade LCDA), Iya Oloja General, Oriade LCDA Market Women and Men, Olori Apashe Toyin Famakinwa-Tijani (immediate past LASIEC Commissioner Lagos State), royal fathers, immediate past Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) to Oriade LCDA), Hon. (Mrs) Sarah Ikubese.

Also on the roll call were political leaders, CDC and CDA members, landlords/tenant association, religious leaders, Heads of Departments and Units, bussiness owners/captain of industries, law enforcement agencies and several other stakeholders.
