NNPC Ltd stunned stakeholders yesterday as it reaffirmed a bold nationwide overhaul of Nigeria’s downstream infrastructure, declaring that collaboration, sustainability and innovation would now define the sector’s future.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025 OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week in Lagos, GCEO Engr. Bayo Ojulari revealed that the company had already begun deploying new assets and revamping existing facilities to boost storage, transportation and efficiency in oil and gas operations.
Ojulari stressed that competition alone had become outdated, insisting that operators must embrace fresh strategic alliances and technologies that support both profitability and decarbonization.
He noted that ongoing reforms and incentives driven by the PIA had sparked expansions into growth areas such as LPG, CNG and mini-LNG projects, demanding new skills and deeper investments.
OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week remains the continent’s biggest platform for international operators, regulators and investors shaping the evolution of the downstream value chain.
