The closed-door meeting between Otunba Segun Showunmi and Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) Thursday night, September 18, 2025 reportedly focused on the state of the nation and how to rescue the country, among others.
While Otunba Showunmi is the convener of the National Opposition Movement Coalition (NOMC), a platform aimed at fostering grassroots consensus for the selection of future leaders, Gboyega Isiaka is a member representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon federal constituency in the House of Representatives at National Assembly and a former governorship candidate in Ogun state.
According to Showunmi, it was a meeting of like minds, which centred on how to make Nigerians realise that their rights include their power to vote and make Nigeria greater.
Providing insight into the meeting, Showunmi confirmed in a chat with Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com) that the meeting was part of the widening consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections as well as the future of Ogun State.
“My very good friend and long time compatriot on the Ogun Project Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka GNI visited me last night and Nigeria and Ogun’s future was the main agenda.
“We reviewed the journey so far, and what the future must look like if God permits.
“Without a doubt the vision for our beloved Ogun as envisioned by our progenitors was paramount on our minds.
“Thank you GNI it was nostalgic,” Showunmi stated.
