…not clear whether Bobrisky will be addressed as he or she or allowed to dress like a woman during the session at the assembly complex
A popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye a.k.a. Bobrisky, has been summoned to appear before the National Assembly, precisely at the Green Chamber alongside the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, and social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse a.k.a. VeryDarkMan on Monday, September 30, 2024 by 2pm veracitydesk.com can confirm.
This development comes after VeryDarkMan released an audio recording where Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop a money laundering case against him.
In the audio, Bobrisky also claimed that he avoided serving a six-month jail sentence at Kirikiri Prison in Lagos thanks to his godfather’s arrangements, which secured him accommodation in a lodge instead of prison. However, Bobrisky has since dismissed the audio recording as AI-generated.
The House of Representatives has taken these allegations seriously and summoned the trio to get to the bottom of the matter. VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client will appear before the National Assembly Investigative Panel to assist in unraveling the truth involving Bobrisky, EFCC, and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officials.
It’s worth noting that the National Assembly has the power to summon individuals to appear before it, especially in cases involving allegations of corruption or misconduct. This move is part of the Assembly’s oversight role to ensure accountability and transparency in government institutions.
However, if the legislative grilling eventually takes off as scheduled, it is not clear whether the lawmakers will address Bobrisky as he or she or allow him to dress like a woman at the National Assembly.
