political drama between Dele Momodu and Nyesom Wike deepened on Monday during Politics Today on Channels Television, as the veteran journalist and Ovation Magazine publisher made fresh claims about the FCT Minister’s political branding.
Momodu, speaking with characteristic candour, said: “Nyesom Wike benefited immensely from my talent and the pedigree of the Ovation Media Group. We tushed him up and he was happy… We worked on his dressing and did a bit of speech therapy, telling him how to speak to people.”
His comments suggest that Wike’s polished public image was carefully crafted through strategic media grooming, allegedly spearheaded by Momodu’s team. These remarks follow a previous swipe where Momodu described the FCT Minister as “absolutely shameless.”
The pair, once political allies, appear to have parted ways bitterly—fuelled by the shifting dynamics of Nigeria’s opposition politics ahead of the 2027 elections. Wike is yet to respond.
