A former parliamentarian, who represented Oye and Ikole Federal Constituency 1 at the National Assembly, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, otherwise known as Congressman, has congratulated Maryam Apaokagi, known professionally as Taaooma on the occasion of her birthday anniversary.
Taaoma is a Nigerian comedian, content creator, cinematographer, and social media influencer. She is the CEO, and founder of Chop Tao, a food company, and directs for The Greenade Company, a cinematography firm. She is known for playing multiple roles in her skits.

Taaooma rose to stardom in 2019 with a skit based on African parents taking their children to school. She was the face of Media Room Hub’s July Issue. Her comedy skits are centered on exposing African mothers and their unique manner of disciplining African children with a slap.

More impressively, this creative icon has also modeled herself into a new character known as Quadri. The Quadri character is now many people’s favourites of Taaooma’s contents. Infact hardly could some of her content videos hit 1M view in the last few months, except those of Quadri. All her Quadri videos are big hits back to back.

Daramola who is known for recognizing, celebrating and rewarding the creative skills of the Nigerian skit-makers even as he nicknamed them “clinical psychologists” took to his soical media page on Monday, March 10, 2025 to celebrate Taaooma.
Although this most-sought-after skit-maker was born February 28, the ex-lawmaker however acknowledged to have extended the warm and kind felicitations to her belatedly.
His social media post reads:
” #Happy #Belated #Birthday 🎂 Maryam Apaokagi.. a.k.a #Taooma,
“Please try and keep Quadri from Jeun nile ota oo..Let him avoid Peessi[ Pepsi]
“More of Keep Being Your Creative Self 👌 “
It is recalled that Daramola in 2021 planned a mega event for content creators and social media influencers in Lagos which he tagged, ‘Nigeria Skits Industry Festival and Award’ (NSIA).
Daramola in 2021 was noted for saying: “Skit-makers are therapists. Their short movies help millions of Nigerians break the boredom and help keep our sanity, especially at this time when the negative narrative of hopelessness is strong.
“These young people make us laugh, happy and use skits creatively to satirically communicate the ills of the society to make our nation better beyond the jokes, snazzy, short witty audio-visual presentations.”
“While it may be true that they provide content and have the capacity to reach millions, not many have connected themselves with the fact that many of these young Nigerians are persons who have found their talents and are resilient enough before becoming content creators, and certainly not just internet sensation.
“This was what informed our self-imposed duty to drive the crusade for the repositioning of the skits sector of Nigerian entertainment and the individuals involved for more value and recognition that they have earned so that they can be more conscious of their worth and be inspired to do more,” he said.
The maiden edition of the event which was scheduled for December 12, 2021 was postponed till further notice due to the death of one of the organisers, Joshua Olorunfemi who was a Creative Director and Vice Chairman of the Awards Council.
