Chief Salako Amekunlooye, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political landscape, serving as the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the former chairman of Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) on his emergence as the 2026 gubernatorial flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Osun State.
Chief Amekunlooye who is known for his role in mobilizing youth and advocating for positive political change noted that Oyebamiji has proven himself to be a loyal and committed party man whose contributions in various ways have helped built good image and name for him.
While addressing newsmen on Monday, Chief Salako said as an individual, he decided to throw his full support behind the party’s flag-bearer from the very beginning, amidst uncertainties and he is glad that the majority of the party’s delegates, chieftains, leaders and stakeholders also decided overwhelmingly in Oyebamiji’s favour.
“I feel fulfilled and satisfied with the outcome of Saturday, December 13 primary election which paved way for Oyebamiji as the concensus candidate for APC in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State. It is my belief that loyalty should be rewarded at all times. The former boss of NIWA has consistently demonstrated absolute loyalty and commitment to the party, and the people of Osun State.
“I decided to embark on full chest campaigns in support of his candidacy even when few elements were expressing skepticism. It is also right and worthwhile to salute all party leaders and stakeholders for their unalloyed patriotism and love for the party and Osun State. They are leaders of integrity, purpose and discipline. While I am congratulating Hon. Bola Oyebamiji a.k.a. AMBO for clinching the party’s ticket, I am also wishing him success and landslide victory in the coming election.
“This is a fresh dawn for purpose and prosperity in Osun State and of course the journey to reclaim the State for the progressive fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun. I urge all members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute. Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” Amekunlooye stated.
